Agency service · Advertising in ChatGPT

ChatGPT Advertising Strategy & Campaign Management

We plan, launch and run paid campaigns in ChatGPT for businesses that sell to people who are asking an AI assistant what to choose: strategy, ads, landing page, lead tracking and reporting.

Availability depends on your legal entity’s country. Under OpenAI’s rules, the self-serve Ads Manager is open only in a list of countries; Russia is not on it as of 21 October 2026. We check eligibility before any commitment. Agency fees are separate from your ad budget. We do not promise results.

Eligibility first

Whether you can advertise depends on where your legal entity is registered

This is the single most important thing to know before you spend time or money. It is OpenAI’s rule, and it changes, so we verify it for every brief.

Set by OpenAI, not by us

Under OpenAI’s rules, the self-serve Ads Manager is open only to advertisers whose paying legal entity is registered in a supported country. Availability depends on the country of the advertiser’s legal entity.

Russia is not on the list

As of 21 October 2026, Russia is not among the supported countries, so we do not offer a launch for a Russian legal entity. OpenAI changes the list; we re-check it for every brief.

We check before you commit

The first step is a short eligibility check against OpenAI’s current list: legal entity, country, payment method. If a launch is not possible, we say so before any contract or payment for work that cannot be done.

What it looks like

The ad appears inside the conversation, at the moment of choice

A user asks a question, the assistant answers as usual, and a separate card from an advertiser, clearly labelled as an ad, can appear below.

Illustration. The advertiser is fictional. The actual format, labels and placement of ads are determined by OpenAI and may change.
  1. 01

    Label

The ad is always marked as an ad and separated from the answer.

  2. 02

    Context

Delivery is tied to the topic of the conversation. We provide a short context hint about what the conversation is about, so the ad reaches the right queries.

  3. 03

    Card

A headline, short text, an image and a link to the landing page. We prepare several variants and test them.

  4. 04

    Click and lead

A click goes to an aligned landing page, the pixel records the action and the lead lands in your CRM.

What you get

From an eligibility check to a lead report

01

Eligibility check

We match your legal entity and payment setup against OpenAI’s current rules and tell you plainly whether a launch is possible and what it requires.

02

Intent map

A map of the questions and buying situations where your offer is genuinely useful, with irrelevant topics ruled out.

03

Ads and context

Several ad hypotheses and context hints, written to comply with the platform’s ad policies.

04

Landing alignment

The promise in the ad matched to the first screen of the landing page. A dedicated landing page can be built if needed.

05

Tracking and CRM

Pixel and events, UTM tagging and lead hand-off to your CRM or Telegram, so you see cost per lead rather than clicks alone. Connection methods are confirmed against OpenAI’s documentation at setup time.

06

Optimisation and reporting

Weekly review of leads rather than CTR; changes to ads, bids and context. A monthly review ends with a decision: scale, change or stop.

How a launch works

A 30-day pilot with clear checkpoints

  1. Day 0

    Brief and eligibility

15–30 minutes. Goal, product, country, legal entity, payment method. Outcome: whether a launch is possible and what it needs.

  2. Days 1–3

    Strategy and account

Intent map, campaign structure, access. The ad account and data belong to you.

  3. Days 3–7

    Creative, landing page, tracking

Ads, landing page alignment, pixel, events, UTM, an end-to-end test lead.

  4. Days 7–10

    Review and launch

Check against platform policies; launch with a limited daily budget.

  5. Days 10–30

    Pilot optimisation

Weekly adjustments, a report on day 14, a final review on day 30.

Is this for you

Who it is for, and who it is not for

A good fit if

  • Your paying legal entity is registered in a country supported by OpenAI’s Ads Manager (or you plan to set one up)
  • You have a website or landing page, and a way to receive leads (CRM, email or Telegram)
  • You sell something people research and compare by asking an assistant
  • You want a measured pilot judged on leads, not on impressions

Not a fit if

  • Your advertiser is a Russian legal entity and you need a launch from it: this is not available under OpenAI’s rules today
  • You need a guaranteed number of leads, a guaranteed cost per lead or a promised ROI
  • You want us to place the ad budget through us instead of paying the platform directly
  • Your offer falls into categories OpenAI restricts or does not allow

What this is based on

Verifiable facts and plain terms

We have no public case studies for this service yet, and we do not invent any. Instead: platform rules, a transparent process and terms you can check.

Questions and answers

What people usually ask before launching

Can you launch ChatGPT ads for a company registered in Russia?

No. OpenAI’s self-serve Ads Manager is open only to advertisers whose paying legal entity is in a supported country, and as of 21 October 2026 Russia is not on that list, so we do not promise a launch for a Russian legal entity. If you have, or plan to have, a legal entity in a supported country, we will check your case against the current list. If a launch is not possible we will tell you straight away and will not take payment for work that cannot be done.

What does availability depend on?

On the country of the advertiser’s legal entity under OpenAI’s rules. It is OpenAI that decides which countries are supported and when that changes. We verify eligibility at the brief, before any contract or payment for work.

Are you an official OpenAI partner?

No. MECHANICS is an independent agency and is not affiliated with OpenAI. We set up and manage campaigns in the platform’s ad account on your behalf, on publicly available terms.

Is ad spend included in your fees?

No. Agency fees are separate from the advertising budget. You pay the ad budget directly to the platform; it is not part of our packages and does not pass through us. The minimum daily budget is set in the Ads Manager; we confirm it at setup.

How much do your services cost?

Indicative starting points are shown on this page in Russian roubles: launch from RUB 65,000, management from RUB 55,000 per month, landing page + tracking + launch from RUB 165,000. They are not a public price list. Large catalogues and complex integrations are quoted separately, and the final price is fixed in writing, in an agreed currency, after the eligibility check.

How fast can we launch?

Typically 7–10 days from brief to launch: strategy, ads, tracking and platform review. Timing depends on how quickly approvals and account checks go.

Who owns the ad account and data?

You do. The ad account, pixel, analytics and CRM stay in your ownership; we work through the access you grant. If we stop working together, you lose nothing.

What do you measure?

Not impressions or CTR, but leads, cost per lead and, if a CRM is connected, qualified leads and sales. We report on day 14 and hold a final review on day 30.

Do ads change ChatGPT’s answers?

According to OpenAI, ads are separate from answers and do not change their content. An ad is a separate labelled card. Appearing inside the answers themselves is organic visibility, which is a different tool (see our AI search visibility service).

Do you guarantee results?

No. We do not promise results, ROI or any particular click or lead cost; those depend on your niche, offer and the auction. What we commit to is the process: a correct launch, working tracking, transparent reporting and an honest conclusion at the end of the pilot.

Can we sign an NDA?

Yes, on request. Work is done under a contract with a defined scope.
